Brand assets & guidelines — public edition
Monid
Brand
The logo files, the colours and the type, with the rules for using them. Use the artwork as supplied.
Refer to Monid. Integrations, docs, talks and press may use the name and the logo as shown here.
Ask before co-branding. Partner lockups and press material need approval before publication.
Do not alter. The name, the Astrid, the wordmark and the lockup are Monid trademarks. Use them as supplied.
Logo
Three forms, one order
A wordmark, a mark called the Astrid, and the lockup of both. Either element can carry the brand alone.
| Asset | SVG | PNG · 2048 px |
|---|---|---|
| Lockup wordmark + Astrid | Blue White Near Black | Blue White Near Black |
| Wordmark | Blue White Near Black | Blue White Near Black |
| Astrid the mark | Blue White Near Black | Blue White Near Black |
Everything above in one file: monid-brand-kit.zip · 473 KB. Transparent backgrounds. The lockup file is cropped to the ink, so its height is A.
- The Astrid follows the wordmark — to the right, bottom on the baseline, a gap of 0.38 A. Never on the left.
- Either element may stand alone. Use the Astrid alone for avatars, app icons and square spaces.
- Use the supplied artwork. Never re-type the wordmark or redraw the mark.
- One colour per instance: Monid Blue, White or Near Black. Never mixed, never gradient.
- Write the name as Monid. Not MONID, not monid.
Clear space
One A of air, on every side
Wordmark alone. A stays 1.066 × cap height (94 against 88.2), as if the mark were present. The ink is 3.53 A wide, so the row of four circles overhangs it by 0.24 A each side; the lighter dashed rules mark the row’s edges.
Astrid alone. A is its own height — one mark’s width of air around the mark.
- A is the height of the Astrid. Keep at least 1 A clear on every side, measured from the ink.
- The wordmark alone keeps the same A: 1.066 × its cap height. The Astrid alone uses its own height.
- Nothing enters the band: no type, rules, image edges, crops or other logos. More space is always fine.

- Never blue on a dark ground.
Misuse
What breaks the logo
Real renderings of the mistakes. If your artwork looks like one of these, it is wrong.
✕ Never put the Astrid on the left. The mark trails the wordmark — always.
✕ Never rotate or tilt. The Astrid sits at 0°.
✕ Never stretch, condense, or scale non-uniformly.
✕ Never recolour, gradient, or two-tone the lockup.
✕ Never re-type the wordmark. Use the supplied artwork.
✕ Never crowd the logo or box it in. Keep 1A clear.
✕ Never add shadows, glows, bevels, or outlines.
✕ Never use a low-contrast pairing. Check the ground first.
✕ Never append a product or sub-brand word inside the lockup.
✓ Use the supplied lockup, one colour, mark trailing.
✓ Drop to the Astrid alone when space is tight or square.
✓ Switch to white on dark grounds — never blue.
Partner lockups
Co-branding
Partner lockup — equal cap heights, hairline divider, 1A either side of the rule.
- Match cap heights, not bounding boxes. Neither mark is larger than the other.
- Monid goes first in Monid-owned material; the partner goes first in theirs.
- The divider is a hairline — 1 px on screen, 0.25 pt in print. Never a bar, slash, plus or “×”.
- One colourway across the whole lockup. If the partner mark must be full colour, set Monid in Near Black or White.
- Both parties approve co-branded artwork before it ships.
Third-party marks
Other logos on a Monid surface
The rail: one row, greyscale at rest, colour under the pointer.
The wall: a full-colour grid. Never.
- Greyscale at rest; colour only on hover, one mark at a time.
- One row, never a grid. Never more than one row on a hero.
- Never recolour a partner mark to Monid Blue, and never place it inside the Monid clear space.
Print & physical
Ink is not light
One target value for Monid Blue in every colour space, and the sizes below which the mark stops working.
| Space | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| HEX | #0016D7 | Master definition. --mnd-blue |
| RGB | 0 / 22 / 215 | sRGB, 8-bit per channel. |
| HSL | 234° / 100% / 42% | Fully saturated. Any tint or shade is a different colour. |
| CIE Lab | L 28.1 · a 64.7 · b −92.2 | D65 / 2°, converted from sRGB. The value to hand an ink mixer; the ink lab adapts it to D50 / 2° (Bradford) before mixing. |
| LCh | C 112.6 · h 305.1° | Chroma 112.6 is far beyond what any four-colour set can reach. |
| CMYK | C100 M90 Y0 K16 | Naive process conversion. Prints duller than the target and drifts toward Reflex Blue. Use only when a spot ink is impossible. |
| Spot | Custom mix to Lab | Preferred. Fallback: Pantone Blue 072 C. |
Blue on white · spot ink on white or light stock; blue thread or ink on white and light garments. The ground extends at least 1 A beyond the ink on every side.
White on blue · white ink, thread or knock-out on a Monid Blue flood; white on blue-dyed garments. The ground extends at least 1 A beyond the ink on every side.
| Process | Mark alone | Lockup width | Colour | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Screen print / offset | ≥ 6 mm | ≥ 25 mm | Spot ink; process only if unavoidable | Vector artwork. No trapping into the rays; overprint white knock-outs cleanly. |
| Embroidery | ≥ 20 mm | ≥ 60 mm | Thread matched to the spot ink, physical swatch | The rays keep their taper. No satin-stitch fill below 20 mm; the ray tips close up. Digitise from vector, not from a raster. |
| Engraving / emboss / deboss | ≥ 10 mm | Mark alone only | Single colour or blind | The wordmark's counters do not survive a tool; use the mark alone. One depth, no bevel on the rays. |
| Vinyl / signage | ≥ 40 mm | ≥ 200 mm | Spot-matched vinyl or paint | Cut from vector. The mark inside a lockup is also ≥ 40 mm, hence the 200 mm lockup (4.91 A). If a ray tip lifts in weeding, the size is too small. |
- Spot ink mixed to the Lab value is preferred. Fallback: Pantone Blue 072 C. Process CMYK only when a spot is impossible.
- Never print the blue as a tint. There is no 60 % Monid Blue.
- Two artworks only: blue on white, white on blue. On black, charcoal or navy merchandise the mark is white.
Motion
The reveal
For title cards, intros, outros and social clips.
- One reveal: the Astrid opens from its centre, then the wordmark. It runs 1.0 s and holds at 1.3 s.
- The mark never spins, bounces, stretches or glows. Only opacity, scale (≤ 8 %) and translate (≤ 0.5 A) move.
- Ease in with cubic-bezier(.2, 0, 0, 1). Leave as one fade of the whole lockup, 320 ms at most.
- Deliver as Lottie for web and app, ProRes 4444 with alpha for video.

The mark becomes a structure
White lines on the dark ground — the sketch.
Monid Blue on the light ground.
- The Astrid thins into six lines, the lines close into a cube, and the cube keeps turning a quarter turn at a time. It never returns to the mark.
- White lines on Near Black, or Monid Blue lines on white. One-pixel hairlines at any size.
Colour
One colour, and a grey scale
The one colour. Ink on light grounds, ground on dark ones.

Neutrals · pure greys, no hue · ★ Near Black #1E1E1E is the dark ground
Signal colours · status only, never decoration
- Monid has one colour. There are no tints, shades or a second blue.
- Every grey is hueless: equal red, green and blue.
- On light grounds the blue is ink: the mark, links, primary buttons. On dark grounds it is ground: a filled card or band with white on top. Never small blue elements on a dark surface.
- Signal colours carry status only. They never touch the logo.
Typography
Three typefaces, three jobs
Monid Brand Outfit
Use for: the wordmark, page and section headings, marketing headlines, quotes and pull-outs, large numerals in a hero. Anything where the type is being looked at.
Never for: body copy, form labels, buttons, table content, or anything below 20 px. Outfit's geometry gets tiring at reading sizes and its figures are not built for dense data.
Set headings at -0.02em and display sizes at -0.03em. The wordmark is artwork and carries no tracking. Outfit is optically large — typed headings always need tracking pulled in.
Primary Inter
Use for: everything functional — body copy, UI labels, buttons, inputs, navigation, tooltips, table content, error messages. This is the default face; if you have not made a deliberate choice, you are in Inter.
Never for: the wordmark, or display headings that Outfit should carry. Inter at 72 px reads as an interface, not as a brand.
Enable font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums anywhere digits stack in a column. Body copy sits at 0 tracking; only headings at 24 px and above get negative tracking.
Mono JetBrains Mono
Use for: code, token names, IDs, hex values, timestamps, measurements, and the small uppercase eyebrow labels used throughout this document. Mono signals “this is a literal value”.
Never for: running prose, headings, or button text. Monospace in a sentence reads as a mistake unless the content really is a literal.
Eyebrow labels: 12 px, weight 500, uppercase, letter-spacing: 0.12em. Other mono labels — captions, table heads, badges — sit at 0.04em. Inline code sits at 0.8125em of its parent so it does not tower over surrounding text.
Type scale
- Outfit for headings and display. Inter for everything functional. JetBrains Mono for code and literal values.
- Headings at −0.02em, display sizes at −0.03em. Body at 16 px / 1.65.
- All three faces are open licence: Outfit, Inter, JetBrains Mono on Google Fonts.
