# monid generate_session_id

> Generate a new short session ID.

Generate a new short session ID.

## Usage

```bash theme={null}
monid generate_session_id [--json]
```

## Flags

| `-j, --json` | boolean | No | Output as JSON |

## Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Generate a session ID
monid generate_session_id

# Output as JSON
monid generate_session_id --json
```

## Behavior

* Prints a newly generated session ID to stdout
* With `--json`, outputs `{"sessionId": "..."}`
* Does not require authentication
